Mission

To financially and otherwise provide assistance to the City of Olive Branch and its citizens and neighbors by securing grants and implementing and developing projects and activities aimed at enhancing the city and surrounding community.

The Grants department works diligently to secure federal, state and private foundation grants for the City.  The department completes and maintains the paperwork required for securing the grants and keeps track of monies received and distributed. 

Friends of Olive Branch, Inc.

The department also administers Friends of Olive Branch, Inc.  Friends of Olive Branch, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that can accept private and public grants allowing for donations that are 100% tax deductible.

Current Projects:

• Annual “Celebrate Your Independence” 4th of July event held at the Olive Branch City Park  FREE ADMISSION

• Camp B.U.I.L.D. – A 7-week summer camp for student’s grades 5-9 that concentrates on character building skills conducted by the Olive Branch School Resource Officers

• Be a Winner Program – Drug prevention program for 6th graders facilitated by local law enforcement  officers

• Keep a Clear Mind – Parent/child prevention program for 3rd grade students facilitated by local law enforcement officers

• 123 Education – A 9-week awareness program for 4th and 5th grade students facilitated by local law enforcement officers

• Citizens Police Academy – A 10-week program which allow citizens and law enforcement the opportunity to meet one night a week to interact as well as
allow the police department the chance to educate citizens on how the Olive Branch Police Department works and why

• Christmas for low-income seniors and families – provide Christmas meals and gifts to local low-income seniors and families

• Safe Communities – Firefighters purchase and install smoke detectors for seniors and low income families

• Olive Branch Animal Shelter – The shelter currently needs the following items:  kennels/pet carriers, litter pans, kitty litter, small or medium igloos for dogs, puppy and kitten food, cat and dog toys, feline leukemia test kits, heartworm test kits, vaccines and needles/syringes, towels, bleach, and general medical supplies/first aid.

• Operation Beautification – A citywide landscape and litter campaign

VOLUNTEERS Needed:

• Bi-Annual Great American Clean-Up – Dates to be announced
• Fall Clean-up – City wide fall clean up last Saturday in September 9 a.m. to 12 noon
